Aloha Kānaka
We will love and care for all people regardless of race, color, creed, or national origin. This includes the unborn, the living, and the dead. We will mālama and protect the ʻohana, the basic unit of society. Whether it is homelessness, health care, cost of living, housing, jobs, education, or quality of life, it is all about loving and caring for the people and doing what is in their best interest.

We are ʻohana, with the kuleana to take care of one another. We aloha and mālama all people and accept others for who they are. We celebrate and embrace diversity of gender, age, race, ethnicity, culture, national origin, creed, range of physical abilities, financial means, education, and political perspectives.

These are traits of character that express the charm, warmth and sincerity of Hawai‘i’s people. Aloha is what defines Native Hawaiians as a people and culture.  Aloha is the working philosophy of native Hawaiians and is Hawai‘i’s gift to the world. Aloha is more than a word of greeting or farewell or a salutation. Aloha means mutual regard and affection and extends warmth in caring with no obligation in return. Aloha is the essence of relationships in which each person is important to every other person for collective existence. Regarding the richness and depth of Aloha, Queen Lili‘uokalani said “Aloha means to hear what is not said, to see what cannot be seen and to know the unknowable."
